Smid Sina
Sina Smid received a MSCA Fellowship in 2025 with the AXA Research Lab on Gender Equality at Bocconi University. Her project, GAPP, explores the effectiveness of gender equality policies. She earned a PhD in International Economics, Government and Business from Copenhagen Business School in 2023 and worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Uppsala University on climate and social protection policies. Sina has extensive international development experience with the OECD, World Bank, and UN agencies, focusing on governance, trust in public institutions, forced displacement, and education.
Bontempo Matilde
Matilde Bontempo is a Pre-Doctoral Fellow at the AXA Gender Lab. She earned her Master of Science in Politics and Policy Analysis from Bocconi University in 2022, following her graduation from the Bachelor of Science in International Economics and Management from Bocconi University in 2019. Previously, she was a Research Assistant at the AXA Gender Lab and interned at the Permanent Delegation of Italy to NATO. Her research interests include topics in political economics, gender and conflict.
Orlando Miriam
Miriam Orlando is a pre-doc at AXA Gender Lab. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from Università Alma Mater Studiorum - Bologna and she is a second-year student in the MSc Politics and Policy Analysis at Università Bocconi. Her research interests include topics in development, gender and public economics.

Epifori Edoardo
Edoardo Epifori is a Pre-Doctoral Fellow at the AXA Gender Lab. He earned his Master’s in Politics and Policy Analysis at Bocconi University and his Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Economics from the University of Groningen in 2023. Previously, he was a Data Analyst at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Rome and a Research Assistant at Bocconi University. He also worked as a Teaching Assistant for multiple economics courses at the University of Groningen. His research interests include political economy, labour economics, European integration, and the evaluation of public policies.
